No Soccer :( by Pallas

Yesterday was a day that everyone was looking forward to soccer competition! But as a matter of fact it had been postponed because of the weather. Now we have to wait until next Wednesday.  Only hoping that it won't be postponed again. I guess I'll just hope and pray that next week it will be sunny!

Soccer Practice by Maranatha

A few weeks ago we started playing soccer for lunch time sports. Then finally Mr Reid was going to choose the soccer team. I was running nervously down and up the field for the ball because I really wanted to make it in the team. Days came and Mr Reid still didn't have the team until one sunny Monday morning before fitness, he had told us who was in the soccer team. Yay! Calling out the names, hoping that he'd say my name. Heilala, Mika, Aydrian, Suliasi, Meana, Timote Junior and finally... Maranatha! I stopped biting my nails after he said my name. At last the team was officially made. We just need more practices and we'll be soccer professionals.

Lupe Hosting the Syndicate Assembly for the First Time

Syndicate Assembly

It was Room 12's turn to host the Syndicate Assembly. Anyone who didn't have a turn hosting  in the last assembly had a turn in this one. I think Room 12 did very well for planning an amazing assembly. This was my very first time being the assembly host. Hosting the assembly was a little hard because we had to memorise our lines.

Maths! Maths! Maths! by Pallas

We've stated off this term with a lot of Maths! But I love it! Maths is something I love doing at school although it can be tiring at most times. These past few weeks we have been learning a lot about addition and subtraction problems. Our main focus is to use more efficient ways to work out the problems that have been given to us. It doesn't sound hard but it's not just normal addition and subtraction problems.

Our Second Time by Athens

On Monday, it was our second time hosting the Senior Syndicate Assembly. This time we didn't have as much time as we did for our last assembly. We only had Friday and Monday to plan what we were going to say and what we were going to do. Meana and Aydrian decided to do Class Feuds, Jack Daniel and Azahar chose the music and the rest had to say some things at assembly.

For Class Feuds, Meana  asked the students questions and they had to answer them correctly but there was more than one answer and each answer was worth different points. Room 9 ended up winning by 10 points, Room 10 had seven points, Room 11 zero points, and room 12 had three points.

During The Holidays by Jack Daniel

In the holidays I went to Waiheke Island. My family and I woke up at seven o'clock in the morning, and we drove to the train station in Glen Innes. We waited for a few minutes after my dad bought the tickets for the train. Eventually, the train arrived and we hopped on board. We were heading to the city so we could catch a ferry on Waiheke Island.

When we disembarked, we had to quickly buy breakfast and wait near the checkout. We quickly ate our breakfast and then had to board the ferry. During the ride, I saw splashing waves and amazing views. When we arrived on Waiheke Island, we went through the forest. We also saw people in the forest. My family and I walked for a few minutes and finally found a restaurant.

They had some nice food on the menu. Later we ate and we went back down the forest and to the bus stop. Next stop we went to the beach. After the beach we went back to the ferry. Soon after a few minutes, we went back home.

What a fun and exhausting trip.

School Starts Off With Work! by Maranatha

02.05.16, school started. Yes! Today school started. It was exciting at first until my teacher asked us to get our chromebooks for work. Work, work, work!
Our 2 weeks of holidays has brought us down to not using our brains and not feeling like doing anything but sit in front of the television and be lazy. Well, today has kind of been fun before working. We kicked it off with some dancing and assembly.

So that's me working until my brain explodes.
